Inventory Wadden Sea Region
The WSF working group Energy, Industry and Infrastructure has elaborated a simple table
to inventory energy and harbour related activities along the coast.
This table is not intended to be exhaustive but provides an overview of the main activities
in the Wadden Sea Region.
The table is maintained by the WSF secretariat and proved by the working group.
All experts are invited to deliver additional information to the secretariat to keep the inventory up to date and informative.
The Wadden Sea Forum has initiated a study regarding an inventory of power plants in the Wadden Sea Region and its
ecological and economical effects. The study was elaborated by the Bremer Energie Institut and focussed on:
- an inventory and analysis of all existing and being substantiated in an official planning
process power plants in the Wadden Sea Region and the southern North Sea EEZs of
Denmark, Germany and The Netherlands;
- an evaluation and assessment of the potential impacts and economic consequences of
the energy plants and related facilities;
- an assessment of the proportion of installed renewable energy within the Wadden Sea
Region in the view of the development of a sustainable energy supply.
